Marketing and Communications:
Marketing and Communications serves as the creative and promotional hub for the Division of Student Success and Well-Being at UCF. Day-to-day, they provide in-house services to division departments, including graphic design, web development and email communications. They also manage high-level strategic student communications and special projects.
The Opportunity:
The Writer II will lead the planning, writing, and execution of email marketing campaigns both on behalf of SSWB Marketing and Communications, as well as for division units. This role also audits and rewrites web content and writes feature stories for the division and university news blog to help tell the story of student success and campus life.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the division’s lead writer for feature stories and news blog content, spotlighting student success, staff impact, and strategic initiatives.
Lead the planning, writing, and sending of internal email campaigns. Manage audience lists, support unit-level users, and ensure timely, accessible, and high-performing messages.
Write and update content for the division’s web pages, ensuring consistency in voice, accuracy, and alignment with university branding and accessibility standards.
Collaborate with SSWB MarCom team on messaging priorities, editorial calendars, and integrated campaign development.
Partner with the SSWB MarCom team to shape creative direction for projects and contribute to broader marketing initiatives across the division.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of professional writing experience, preferably within a higher education setting.
Familiarity with multiple writing styles, including journalistic and public relations.
Demonstrated experience in copy editing, proofreading, and conducting interviews.
Working knowledge of content creation for marketing campaigns, with experience writing for diverse audiences and editing high-quality materials.

This is a one-year visiting position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time of funding for this employment is depleted.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030- $65,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
