The Opportunity

The Audio-Visual (AV) Specialist in Tier II IT support is an entry level position that has gained some audio-visual (AV) knowledge through work and life experiences and can troubleshoot AV issues to identify and address the source of the problem. The AV Specialist is focused on OIR Classroom Support incident tickets, classroom checks and maintenance.

This is an auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on preventative maintenance and repair of multimedia equipment through classroom checks and remote monitoring.

  • Resolves and manages multimedia issues and classroom check tickets with assistance from FWS and OPS meeting service level targets. Assists with creation and enhancement of knowledge base media and troubleshooting/repair guides.

  • Assists OIR Engineering with AV installations as needed. Provides additional support for other teams in the department, including training student workers on troubleshooting, repair, and operation of equipment; assists in maintaining inventory and spare equipment; technical support for high-profile UCF events.

  • Assists faculty in the use of campus multimedia with a focus on customer service.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and OIR to perform tracking and reporting functions within ServiceNow. Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and OIR. This includes staff policies for telecommuting, administrative tasks, creating and maintaining documentation, outage communication procedures, and managing customer interactions.

  • Ensures all assigned Objectives & Key Results (OKR) and various metrics are meet on annual basis. This includes departmental and individual Service Level Agreements on tickets and assignments.

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include temporary supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AV over IP, cable management, and Crestron equipment such as NVX.

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, Canvas.

  • Knowledge of network infrastructure (VLAN, DHCP).

  • Exceptional customer service skills, phone etiquette, and presentation abilities.

  • Team leadership qualities.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to perform in an immediate response environment.

This position is eligible for 5% Shift Differential Pay of the pay range minimum.
