Student Success and Well-Being – Career Services

Career Services provides comprehensive career services and programs to assist a diverse student population in developing and implementing career, education, and employment plans through collaborative internal partnerships with UCF administrators, faculty and staff, as well as effective external partnerships with key employers.

This position/classification may be moved at management's discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Success and Well Being or his/her designee.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Career Services Department is currently accepting applications for a Career Services Coordinator.  This role is responsible for enhancing student career development and strengthening employer relations through a variety of programs and services. This position supports key aspects of Career Services operations, with a primary focus on event coordination, employer engagement, marketing, and liaison support. This role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure the success of high-impact programs such as career fairs, employer events, and campus partnerships. The coordinator also plays a vital role in managing Handshake, maintaining communications, and promoting Career Services through strategic marketing efforts.

Responsibilities:

Event Support & Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning, development, and execution of strategic initiatives for large-scale events such as Career Expo and ProConnect.

  • Manage logistical components including employer registration, signage, vendor coordination, student outreach, and space planning.

  • Serve as the Promotion Lead for Career Expo, overseeing all signage and easel inventory, managing production and setup, and acting as the point of contact for on-site signage coordination.

  • Support other Employer Relations events by handling logistics including supplies, communication with vendors, and setup needs.

Liaison and Partnership Engagement:

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Career Services Events inbox and phone line, ensuring professional and timely responses to inquiries from students, employers, and campus partners.

  • Collaborate with campus partners and faculty to support workshops, classroom presentations, tabling events, and other engagement activities.

  • Support assigned college liaison responsibilities to enhance employer visibility and student engagement across specific colleges and departments.

Handshake and Employer Relations Operations:

  • Review and approve employers and job postings in Handshake as needed.

  • Manage the registration process for over 200 employer participants per semester, including invoice generation, representative updates, payment processing, survey response verification, and tax documentation review.

Supervision and Student Staff Management:

  • Supervise student assistants by providing task guidance, fostering skill development, and maintaining a collaborative work environment.

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Collaborate with marketing staff and students to develop and implement marketing strategies for employer events, including weekly “This Week in CS” social media posts, semesterly “Employer Newsletter”, and email campaigns to 90,000+ recipients, flyers, maps, and other promotional materials.

  • Assist with social media content planning and creation to promote Career Services initiatives and events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing and outreach strategies for events or programs, including social media content creation, email campaigns, and promotional material design.

  • Proficiency with career services platforms such as Handshake, including employer and job posting management, event registration coordination, and data tracking.

  • Experience providing student support services in a higher education setting, facilitating career development programming.

  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage events, including planning logistics, communicating with vendors and stakeholders, and ensuring successful execution of large-scale programs.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining employer or external partner relationships to support student engagement and career readiness initiatives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in team-oriented environments.
