The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) is seeking well-qualified candidates for a Community Engagement Manager. The Community Engagement Manager  is essential to carrying out community outreach and donor and alumni engagement activities of the Dean's Office and serves as the liaison between the Dean's Office, Office of Advancement and the Marketing & Communications team to ensure events and programs are well-executed and well-positioned to aid in future community and philanthropic support for the College of Medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all events and engagements for the Dean's Society - a vital program of unrestricted COM support (measured criterion for LCME accreditation) - in partnership with other UCF colleges and COM faculty and staff to showcase the education, research and education missions of the college to Dean's Society members and community stakeholders.

  • Coordinate all meetings for the Dean's Advisory Council in partnership with the Special Assistant to the Dean. This high-level group of community leaders and donors is vital to the future philanthropic progress of the College.

  • Manage all COM community engagement events including MEDTalks, Hitt Grand Rounds, Day of Giving activities, all M.D. Alumni Reunion Weekend planning and execution, COM galas, community partner luncheons and other activities. Also building new LIFE at UCF program, developing and managing COM education series featuring clinicians and researchers, with over 200 attendees.

  • Assist with the implementation of signature College events (i.e. White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, Commencement) to support donors and community leaders attending those events. White Coat tasks have grown to include white coat and stethoscope campaigns, personalized donor notes for the students, donor recognition lists and slides for the ceremony, and the development of a web course for M1 students to teach stewardship activities and communications of appreciation.

  • Support COM fundraising goals by overseeing donor stewardship events and grateful patient training programs. This will include collecting and analyzing data from various university sources. Establish and manage officially licensed UCF COM merchandise for COM apparel pop-up shop.

  • Work strategically with the COM Communications and Marketing team to facilitate the development and preparation of marketing materials for distribution to COM donors and community partners, including newsletters, event invitations and communication pieces from the Dean. Prepare the UCF College of Medicine report, submitted annually to the AAMC Group on Institutional Advancement.

  • Direct all events and engagements for the M.D. Parent & Family Council. Annual membership dues directly benefit Student Affairs programming, student conference travel and student-led extracurricular activities.

  • Serve as Advancement Liaison to the COM Event Management Team.

  • Other duties as assigned to include but are not limited to the timely completion of required university and college trainings and updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with donor giving groups, such as the Dean’s Society.

  • Familiarity with the State University System (SUS) and the software and systems used by the SUS.

  • Familiarity with Blackbaud and related fundraising software systems.

  • Experience in the advancement area of a university-based academic medical system.

  • Experience with managing complex donor information and lists.

  • Well-organized, thorough, and accurate in planning, preparation, and processing of work-related materials and activities.

  • Ability to work strategically and develop and implement processes in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders.

  • Able to manage various complex projects simultaneously while managing your time effectively.
