Student Success and Well-Being – Office of Student Financial Assistance:
The Office of Student Financial Assistance operates under the Division of Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB). As a member of the Enrollment Services Professionals, the office actively participates in a range of services that support academic admissions, course registration, financial aid, and orientation for both current and prospective university students. Staff in the Office of Student Financial Assistance are dedicated to advising applicants and their families on financial aid options and broader educational planning to help them make informed decisions about their academic futures.
The Opportunity:
The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Coordinator I. This position will process a variety of awarding requests, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement in accordance with institutional and donor guidelines. The role also includes reconciling multiple types of scholarship funding, such as institutional, state, federal, and private sources, to ensure compliance, accuracy, and appropriate fund utilization.
Responsibilities:
Provides informed counseling to students and parents regarding the financial aid process including loans, grants and scholarships.
Provides information on available options and programs Coordinate the processing, posting, and disbursement of loans and scholarships.
Processes payment refunds and/or adjustments Monitors and coordinates reports for compliance and reconciliation.
Evaluates questions and escalated incidents from student correspondence, phone bank, front desk, emails, and other contacts to resolve loan issues and concerns.
Develops training materials and assists in presenting financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshop or training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree 2+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience with financial aid management systems such as PeopleSoft or similar platforms used in higher education.
Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and reconciliation procedures.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel.
