Career Services provides comprehensive career services and programs to assist a diverse student population in developing and implementing career, education, and employment plans through collaborative internal partnerships with UCF administrators, faculty and staff, as well as effective external partnerships with key employers.

The Opportunity:

UCF’s Career Services, part of the Student Success and Well-Being division, is currently accepting applications for a Manager, Academic Program. This role provides support for implementing career-related programs for UCF faculty and staff, student groups, individuals, and other stakeholders. This position will develop, create, sustain, and manage the Work+ training program and the Work Where You Learn Fair. Reports directly to the Faculty Development Specialist and supports operations of a team that includes an Academic Support Coordinator I, Faculty Fellow and a Graduate Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Work+ training program to support student employees and their supervisors. Work + is a campus wide initiative to streamline student employment and create professional development opportunities for student staff as well as their supervisors.

  • Manages the delivery of workshops to classes as requested as part of the "Classes are Not Enough" program.

  • Partner with the offices within the Dixon Career Center to offer a wide variety of options within the program. Produces instructional materials for students, faculty and staff.

  • Responsible for promoting the services and facilities of Career Services among stakeholders including faculty, staff, and external partners.

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of job fair event for student employment positions including room reservations, event logistics and set-up, staffing support areas, marketing and promotion, technology needs, department outreach and registrations, and other tasks related to event planning.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-campus and off-campus stakeholders associated with the Work + program.

  • Develop communications, marketing, and publicity for the Work Where You Learn Fair, Work + programming, and other training sessions as developed for faculty and staff.

  • Supports the Faculty Development Specialist in analyzing data and generating semester, semi-annual, and annual reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of related experience in career services, academic support, training and development, or a comparable role.

  • Experience in career services, which may include relevant graduate assistantships or professional roles in related areas.

  • Experience developing career programs and demonstrated aptitude for organizing programs to include marketing, planning and implementing programs or projects.

  • Experience in training and development, to include designing curriculum, organizing training sessions, presenting content clearly, engagement strategies with participants, program assessment and evaluation, communication, and/or marketing and promotional activities.

  • Experience using technology in career counseling, including assessment tools, academic and career information systems, job search assistance platforms, social media, presentation development, data management, and/or reporting tools.

  • Master’s degree in student personnel, instructional design, education technology, higher education, counselor education, psychology, or a closely related field.

The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:

  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in designing or delivering quality training programs for professional staff or students.

  • Skills or aptitude for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships; strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels, including faculty, staff, and students, including effective presentation and public speaking skills.

  • Willingness to learn new technology and digital platforms including e-learning systems, webcourse management, and instructional design.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with self-directed teams.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722 to $59,684 annually. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
