Military and Veteran Student Success:
The Office of Military and Veteran Student Success, a unit within the Department of Access and Community Engagement, is dedicated to providing student veterans and military-connected students with an enriching and inclusive environment. The office works with university and community partners to provide a student experience that allows student veterans and military-connected students to achieve educational and career goals through academic success and community partnerships.
The Opportunity:
UCF's Military and Veteran Student Success seeks applicants for a brand-new role as a Student Resource Specialist II at Patrick Space Force Base. The Student Resource Specialist II will serve as the UCF representative to the Patrick Space Force Base (PFSB) Education and Training Section (ET&S) responsible for assisting students with their benefits, eligibility requirements, and reaching their educational goals. This position provides assistance to military students through advisement sessions, appointments, and workshops.
This position is fully onsite at Patrick Space Force Base.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operation of the UCF office located within the PSFB ET&S to include training and orientation briefs for all institution representatives.
Coordinate required DoD/Base specific annual training as required by ET&S chief.
Provide direction to others to ensure procedures are upheld for office operations.
Develop and implement administrative standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide to the ET&S Chief a tentative annual schedule of course offerings to meet military student educational requirements and provide notification when courses are canceled.
Report to PSFB officials IAW the PSFB MOU.
Serve as an assistant school certifying official for VA educational benefits and Tuition Assistance (TA). Coordinate with third party billing for the processing of Tuition Assistance (TA) benefits and paperwork. Maintain student records within Enrollment Manager and the AI Portal, assist students, staff, and faculty with inquiries related to VA educational benefits, TA, and process invoices/certifications as required to include verification of residency. Verify enrolled PSFB students remain stationed at PSFB. Be a subject matter expert regarding state/federal regulations and benefits by attending professional development and training opportunities, reading VA advisories and bulletins. Be knowledgeable and understand institutional policies, programs, and procedures to include academic program status and student statuses.
Provide general academic advisement for student veterans & family members to analyze, identify, and provide resources to help resolve challenges and barriers for academic success. Work one-on-one with students to determine root cause for academic issues or issues related to retention and creates an individual plan for academic success. Provide academic intervention for students identified by SCO, Online Coaches, or Peer Success Coaches and work with students to obtain and retain an acceptable academic standing. Run degree and grade reports as required to monitor student academic status.
Coordinate with campus resources to support military student academic and personal success. Campus resources include Student Accessibility Services, Online Coaches, Career Services, CAPES, and Academic Advocates to provide holistic support to military students enrolled through PSFB.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in student success or student services, particularly in a success coach or advising role.
Experience working at an institution of higher education.
Experience working with the military or familiarity with the military experience.
Familiarity with UCF, whether as a student or employee.
Customer service experience with excellent organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities for interacting with military personnel, students, faculty, and third-party agencies.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.

Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
The selected candidate must complete a Level II background clearance and all eligibility requirements to access a Department of Defense installation.
The selected candidate must complete School Certifying Official certification within 90 days.
