The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prospect Research Analyst I to support our fundraising initiatives. The Prospect Research Analyst will work closely with the Associate Director of Prospect Research and other Prospect Development (PD) team members to provide professional prospect research and information services. This role is essential in supporting UCF’s fundraising goals by enhancing relationships with alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and community partners.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of philanthropy, fundraising processes, and prospect development, and will play a key role in identifying and researching prospective donors to maximize resources for the University.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute prospect identification projects including portfolio analysis, travel lists, and special projects using databases, tools, and industry resources.
Support the implementation of database screening projects, ratings, and scoring models to prioritize constituents by giving capacity, engagement, and affinity.
Perform data validation and integrity efforts by updating and verifying constituent records, including biographical and professional details, capacity indicators, and alerts.
Prepare detailed, well-organized biographical and financial profiles on individuals, corporations, and foundations to inform development strategies.
Respond to a wide range of high-priority and ad hoc research requests, partnering with the research team to manage timelines and fulfillment strategies.
Collaborate on research best practices and ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all research deliverables.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of the Prospect Development team’s mission and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in nonprofit prospect research, fundraising, or data analysis.
Familiarity with research databases.
Knowledge of database systems (Blackbaud CRM or similar) and experience with maintaining and cleaning up records.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess financial and biographical information to develop prospect profiles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise reports.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
