The Opportunity:
UCF Global is seeking an Academic Advisor II to provide academic advising and student support in areas including but not limited to recruitment, career goals, orientation, enrollment, engagement, retention, progression, and persistence. This is an Auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities:
Provides academic advising and transition support to students to impact retention, completion, and progression in the UCF Global programs.
Identifies and helps resolve obstacles impeding the academic success and career goals of students while in the UCF Global programs.
Supports students in developing a required academic plan to meet completion and progression requirements in the UCF Global programs.
Analyzes students' academic and personal issues/concerns and provides timely referral/intervention services.
Follow and explain University and UCF Global programs’ academic policies, procedures, and guidelines in order to help students to achieve their educational goals.
Support with the assessment of advising, support practices and programming based academic performance data.
Utilizes advising technology systems to manage advising notes, student data, enrollment, retention, completion, and progression at UCF Global.
Coordinates and presents during UCF Global orientations, social, cultural, and transition programming for students.
Participates in program-related planning to assist students with the transition process.
Engages current and prospective students in a variety of communication and outreach events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field, such as higher education, student personnel, psychology, counseling, etc.
3+ years of related experience working with college students.
Experience working with international students.
Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

The anticipated salary for this position is $36,841 to Negotiable. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
