College of Health Professions and Sciences: The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is home to nationally recognized programs focused on health and wellness ― and a respected faculty dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF’s largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and interprofessional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and community-based initiatives for working with varied populations.

The Opportunity:

UCF's College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking an Academic Support Coordinator I to join their team! The coordinator role will provide support for the School's Graduate program, specifically the coordination of students through the clinical aspect of the program and tracking of various metrics to meet accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Track graduate students' clinical progress and monitor the clinical benchmarks for progression across practicum experiences from entry-level to full-time externship.

  • Process permissions and/or overrides for graduate clinical labs (each semester for approximately 100 students). Track and Document clock hours and clinical competencies for each graduate student in CALIPSO.

  • Maintain and track course accreditation standards and competencies in CALIPSO based on faculty syllabi.

  • Maintain accuracy of CALIPSO records with semester reports for errors and omissions.

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute all beginning of semester orientation workshops.

  • Assist the Clinic Director and Internship Coordinators with externship placements and all externship supervisors and sites.

  • Coordinate student background checks and screenings for each new cohort of graduate students.

  • Schedule and provide Clinic tours two times per semester for prospective graduate students.

  • Prepare semesterly clinical calendar, student contact lists, and course schedules for access in teams by all clinical educators.

  • Provide necessary data for the annual Institutional Effectiveness report and other reports as required by the University, as well as data for re-accreditation reports required by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Speech-Language-Pathology.

  • Maintain the Master's Student Handbook, explaining the Academic, Clinic, and Externship policies and procedures.

  • Process all departmental Externship Affiliation Agreements, including maintaining record of fully executed and pending agreements.

  • Act as liaison with General Counsel regarding agreement processing and approval.

  • Ensure student, supervisor, and facility documentation is maintained in EXXAT for internship placements.

  • Serve as Continuing Education Administrator for ASHA CE submissions ensuring compliance with all requirements.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Educators to coordinate in-house clinical workshops and seminars. Secure rooms for workshops and seminars.

  • Create and distribute all clinical Qualtrix surveys throughout the year to clients, students and community.

  • Distribute client satisfaction surveys each semester.

  • Distribute student feedback to individual clinical faculty and to the clinic director each semester.

  • Distribute emails to students to ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures each semester.

  • Assist the Clinic Director with quality improvement initiatives.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • 2+ years of higher education experience, or in a related field involving student or academic support.

  • Experience with program coordination, project management, or administrative support within complex organizations.

  • Familiarity with accreditation processes, regulatory guidelines, or institutional compliance standards.

  • Proficiency with web-based systems, digital tools, and platforms commonly used in academic or professional settings (e.g., data management systems, CRMs, learning platforms).

  • Experience in a customer service-oriented role with the ability to interact professionally and provide courteous responses to inquiries from students, colleagues, and campus partners.

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is $20.29 - $22.57. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
