UCF IT:
UCF IT is the central information technology organization at the University of Central Florida, providing technology services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, UCF IT comprises several key departments, including Infrastructure & Operations, Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Development, Information Security, Instructional Resources, and Client Services. UCF IT collaborates with university stakeholders through governance frameworks and advisory committees to ensure alignment with UCF’s strategic goals. With a focus on innovation, security, and excellent service delivery, UCF IT supports the university’s mission of teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.
The Opportunity:
UCF IT seeks an Application Systems Analyst I to collaborate with stakeholders and developers to improve the system user experiences including, but not limited to, the improvements to user interface design and business process improvements. This role will facilitate user feedback sessions, gather detailed functional needs, and collaborate with technical teams to develop possible solutions, while ensuring compliance with strategic plans, policies, and procedures for university programs and software applications. The Application Systems Analyst I will support systems upgrades, testing, conversion, and on-going support for assigned areas.
Responsibilities:
Meets with stakeholders to determine system and user requirements.
Develops functional requirements documentation, process flows, and user-interface mock-up diagrams.
Translates requirements into technical system specifications, components, proposed solutions, estimates, and project plans.
Manages deliverables and project documentation and facilitates project meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
We welcome candidates with any of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Coursework or certifications in business analysis, systems analysis, user centered design, instructional design, or related areas.
Experience with user interface design or usability testing; Experience creating process flows and user interface mock-ups (e.g., using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or Balsamiq).
Internship or entry-level experience in IT, project management, business analysis, design, or related fields.
Knowledge of requirements elicitation techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

This is not a remote position. Up to 1-3 hybrid workdays per week may be available following a training period, depending on work duties, university policy, and supervisor approval.
