Office of Outreach and Engagement is at UCF College of Business leading the charge into the next generation of business and education. Established in 1968, UCF College of Business offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and executive levels. All programs, as well as the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting, are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The Opportunity:
The Communications Specialist II will research, write, produce and edit news stories about College of Business programs, events, faculty, students and other activities for the college's newsletters, website, podcast and social media, as well as UCF publications and website, and media outlets. The specialist will provide information and expert sources for reporters. They will create and publish content (stories, photos, videos, etc.) on the College of Business website and other digital channels, including the college's social media platforms. They will also implement and track marketing and digital media campaigns.
Responsibilities:
Conducts interviews, research, writes and produces news stories about college and university research and other activities in Associated Press news style for dissemination to local, state and national media outlets and the college website.
Serves as a liaison to the university community to gather, evaluate, and edit information related to university news and testimonials.
Acts as point of contact for reporters and editors, providing information, resources and experts as requested.
Creates, edits and distributes content on behalf of the college, including news releases, campus messages, talking points, web stories, social media posts and podcasts.
Assists in planning and managing the dissemination of College of Business and UCF news.
Supports marketing and promotional efforts for the College, including digital campaigns, email marketing and event support.
Conducts market research and gathers information for and maintains College of Business media experts guide.
Works with other units throughout the campus and within the division of Marketing, Communications and Admissions as needed to produce, edit or evaluate news copy and digital content.
Assists in updating the College and University websites with news stories, photos, videos and other content.
Ensures brand guidelines and university and college messaging for all marketing and communications collateral.
Assists in tracking media coverage for the College of Business, including the quantity and quality of media placements, staff interactions with media and other assessment metrics.
Tracks social media engagement, email marketing campaigns and podcast performance across the College's digital platforms.
Performs other duties as assigned within job scope.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong writing and verbal skills.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Demonstrated experience with social media platforms and proficiency in tracking and analyzing media coverage, social media engagement, and digital campaign performance using relevant tools and metrics.
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722- $54,203. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
