The Opportunity:
UCF's Finance Business Center within Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB) seeks experienced candidates for a Finance/Budget Analyst III. This position will process financial transactions within university financial systems. The Analyst is tasked with assembling, analyzing, and reconciling data, transactions, and budgets. They will monitor departmental accounts for compliance with applicable regulations and coordinate with the Budget Manager on fiscal compliance related budgets.
Responsibilities:
Collects, analyzes, and concisely summarizes accounting information to prepare internal financial reports for executive management on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Prepares and analyzes financial data, including budgets and forecasts, which consider the unit’s strategic goals.
Monitors and reports budget and expense activities of the units. Maintains ongoing relationship with unit Directors and acts as main point of contact.
Analyzes results, monitors variances, identifies trends, and recommends improvements to management.
Prepares profit and loss statements and/or reconciliation and review of work prepared by others. Prepares and/or reviews auxiliary financial statements. Analyzes and reports fund balances and cash flow balances.
Approves journals, invoices for payment, expense card purchases, and authorizes departmental purchases.
Works with staff to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Provides business process recommendation to increase productivity and automation improvements.
Acts as back-up to other Budget Analyst and accounting staff as needed.
Informs units on university fiscal policies and procedural changes.
Oversees routine accounting functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred education and experience:
Experience as a Budget Analyst, Budget Manager or Director.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Financial certifications such as Certified Budget Specialist (CBS) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Experience using Workday, Adaptive Planning and Huron Grant.
Ability to apply advanced Excel skills in completing tasks, projects, and reports.
Experience supervising others and desire to be part of an intelligent, highly motivated and results-driven team.
Experience in higher education.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information and situations.
