The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Success and Well-Being, is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.
The Opportunity:
UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Coordinator I to join their team. This position is responsible for the administration of the Bright Futures Scholarship Program and other state grant programs.
Responsibilities:
Manages the State of Florida on-line reporting system for Bright Futures and other state programs.
Acts as the liaison to the State Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Evaluates and monitors Bright Futures award adjustments within PeopleSoft.
Reconciles accounts and prepares refunds for Bright Futures and other state programs.
Counsels students and parents regarding state programs, reviews and process forms.
Presents state program appeals to the scholarship committee.
Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process.
Analyses and evaluates students' financial needs.
Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs.
Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid program.
Participates in outreach activities and presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshops or training sessions.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Excel.
Knowledge of basic financial aid program requirements.
Ability to counsel and advise students.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
