The Opportunity:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking to fill multiple Human Resources Director II positions within designated HR Business Centers (HRBC). Each HRBC is integrated within a specific college or division, where the HR staff is fully embedded in the operations and culture of their assigned business center. The HR Directors will act as influential, strategic advisors and business advocates, providing comprehensive HR support and services to their respective college or division.

Responsibilities:
Support division objectives by implementing HR strategies aligned with UCF’s goals. Partner with leadership and college or division stakeholders to provide tailored HR solutions, driving organizational change and continuous improvement.
Advise division leadership on complex HR issues such as discipline, hiring, promotions, and conflict management. Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. Serve as a key advisor on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with university policies and employment laws.
Lead organizational planning for staffing forecasts, from onboarding to employee retention. Develop proactive staffing strategies, staying updated on workforce trends. Provide direction guidance and development to the HR team within the college/division to include ensuring daily service expectations are met.
Determine position classifications and competitive salaries. Collaborate with the Compensation team to ensure fair pay practices. Support college or division leaders in identifying positions, classifying roles, setting compensation levels, and approving personnel transactions in Workday.
Develop and review HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal labor laws. Act as a liaison between division HRBCs and university HR partners, providing support on wellness needs, leave management, and accommodations.
Identify and address workforce needs, developing strategies, policies, and programs to support the division. Offer professional HR advisory services on workforce planning, talent management, performance management, employee relations, and employee engagement.
Lead a team of HR professionals with various backgrounds, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to day-to-day service expectations. Provide developmental opportunities, stretch assignments, and continuous feedback to promote growth and foster improvement.
Ensure completion of various reviews and compliance with various Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, including 3 years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of progressive HR experience, strong business acumen, with 3+ years of direct management of HR professionals with various backgrounds.
Experience in leading a team and providing developmental opportunities, stretch assignments, and continuous feedback to promote growth and foster improvement.
Proven experience using analytical skills to deliver HR strategies that align with organizational goals, through strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Extensive experience partnering with and advising senior leadership on complex HR issues with a track record of achieving results that contribute significantly to business initiatives.
Proven expertise in change management, with a strong ability to guide teams through complex organizational transitions successfully.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide leadership in a matrix environment. High emotional intelligence to manage varied personalities and perspectives.
In-depth knowledge of HR rules, regulations, processes, and procedures, providing high-quality customer service and satisfaction.
Competence in, or aptitude for, our HRIS and talent management systems; Workday experience desired.
Master’s degree and HR certification preferred but not required.
Higher education experience is ideal.
