Student Success and Well-Being – Undergraduate Admissions: 

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the university in meeting its strategic enrollment goals and fulfilling the UCF Strategic Plan. It is responsible for coordinating the identification, recruitment, admissions and enrollment of all undergraduate first-time-in-college, transfer, non-degree, dual enrollment, early admission and non-Florida public institution transient students. The office leverages the UCF brand to market, communicate and engage with broadly diverse, talented, and academically qualified students who will enrich our community and achieve academic and personal excellence.

The Opportunity:

UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Office of Undergraduate Admissions is currently accepting applications for a Student Admissions Counselor I. This role provides essential recruitment support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Enrollment Planning and Management unit within the Division of Student Success and Well-Being. Under the supervision of the Director of Recruitment and External Relations and working closely with the Recruitment Team, the successful candidate will contribute to the university's recruitment and student success goals.

This position/classification may be moved at management's discretion within the Division of Student Success and Well-Being to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Success and Well-Being or his/her designee.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the team that oversees the enrollment and marketing plan for the university including the recruitment, application review, territory management, and travel for a specific territory or target market.

  • Assists in planning, organizing and the implementation of the recruitment activities directly related to targeted groups including but not limited to Decision Days, Open Houses, college fairs and high school visits both face-to-face and virtual.

  • Represents the university at public and private high school/college visitations (including conferring with college counselors and student groups), college nights, and panel presentations to parents, students, and other constituent populations.

  • Reviews and evaluates admission applications and academic credentials.

  • Calculates high school and college GPAs in compliance with the State of Florida and university admission standards.

  • Renders admission decisions on these applications.

  • Maintains accurate enrollment figures of targeted groups for university information and assists in providing annual reports.

  • Works closely with on-campus offices and departments that impact the recruitment of students to ensure admission and enrollment processes are followed and information is conveyed in order to meet university enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

  • Previous experience in admissions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A strong sense of initiative and creativity.
