The Opportunity:
UCF Global seeks qualified candidates for our International Employment & Taxation Coordinator opening! This role is an immigration specialist whose duties entail the timely processing of documents related to international and non-resident alien (NRA) hiring and onboarding services. Responsibilities also include visa processing within the Green Card (immigrant visa), H-1B, and other work visa categories for international students, scholars, and employees at UCF.
We welcome candidates with excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in reviewing and verifying documents are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Process and verify employment documents for foreign national students and employees in coordination with central HR.
Apply & Interpret I-9 regulatory policies to the processing of foreign national new hires.
Maintain a high level of knowledge on current immigration laws and procedures related to employment.
Work with foreign nationals, UCF departments, and outside legal counsel to facilitate the processing of non-immigrant work visas and employment-based permanent resident immigrant visas (i.e. H-1B, 0-1, TN, and Green Cards).
Process all J-1 non-student exchange visas under UCF sponsorship for visiting scholars, professors, & researchers.
Analyze and apply U.S. tax treaties for eligible international employees.
Direct new hires on how to obtain a Social Security Number and assist with escorting students to the Social Security Office.
Verify immigration status for all international students at UCF receiving an award or scholarship.
Update NRA software & databases (Tax Navigator) with individuals' visa and tax information.
Maintain NRA share-point spreadsheets for awards and scholarships.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of immigration documents submitted to the UCF Global Office.
Ensure maintenance of appropriate documentation and archiving.
Aid international students & employees with accessing UCF Global's designated tax prep software (individual tax software).
Conduct compliance presentations, orientations, and workshops for international students and employees.
Analyze and apply tax withholding rates and treaties for various NRA scholarship awards (as needed).
Gather data for production of year-end 1042-S reports (as needed).
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with immigration compliance and processing for US non-immigrant and immigrant visa types.
Knowledge of US immigration laws and processes related to employment.
Experience working in human resources or compliance.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
