Student Success and Well-Being Career Planning and Academic Engagement Unit:
Career Planning and Academic Engagement (CPAE) is a core functional unit of the Division of Student Success and Well-Being. CPAE includes several departments and programs: Academic Advancement Programs, Office of Undergraduate Research, Experiential Learning, Career Services, EXCEL, Student Academic Resource Center, University Testing Center, and HIP Scholars. These areas work as a system to advance High Impact Educational Practices (HIPs) and Career Readiness at UCF.
The Opportunity:
UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Career Planning and Academic Engagement unit is now accepting applications for a Program Manager I. This role for the new Kenneth G. Dixon Career Development Center will be critical in advancing the university's commitment to preparing students for successful careers post-graduation. This position will lead the integration of services across four key departments, create and implement coaching training programs, assess and grow career readiness initiatives, and ensure that technology resources are fully leveraged to support student success. The combined administrative unit, which includes Academic Advancement Programs, Career Services, Experiential Learning, Office of Undergraduate Research, and the HIP Scholars program, has recently moved together to serve students, faculty, staff, and employers collaboratively. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, collaborative, and strategic thinker with experience in higher education program management, career services, and/or student success. The individual will design, implement, and assess cross-functional programs that enhance career readiness, streamline service delivery, and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
This position is a three-year, visiting, grant-funded position.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Visiting positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available. Position will be renewable for a period of up to four years.
Responsibilities:
Integration of Services throughout the Dixon Career Center:
Collaborate with and integrate Career Services, Academic Advancement Programs, Undergraduate Research, and Experiential Learning to develop comprehensive career and graduate school readiness programs.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with departments to ensure alignment of goals, messaging, and services.
Facilitate cross-departmental meetings and communication to foster a unified approach to career development, graduate school preparation, the value of High-Impact Practices, and student success.
Coaching Training Program:
Design and implement a robust staff training program for the Academic Success Coaching community (UCF’s advising model) to ensure they have the tools, knowledge, and skills to guide students' career exploration and readiness, value of High-Impact Practices, and graduate school preparation.
Create training materials and resources that address the evolving needs of students, including trends in the job market, employer expectations, graduate school program requirements, opportunities to engage in High-Impact Practices (HIPs), and career development best practices.
Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for coaches to stay current with emerging trends in career services and higher education.
Technology Resource Support:
Assess the use of technology platforms (e.g., VMock, Handshake, Uconnect, Lightcast) to support career readiness programming and ensure student engagement.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve program delivery, streamline processes, and increase student access to career resources.
Work closely with departments to ensure the integration of technology solutions that enhance the student experience and improve outcomes.
Assessment:
Develop and implement comprehensive assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of the Dixon Career Centers programs, including workshops, career and graduate school fairs, internship opportunities, one-on-one student support, undergraduate research opportunities, and job placement services.
Coordinate data collection through surveys, databases, and reporting tools to monitor activities and student outcomes.
Create semesterly and annual assessment reports.
Partner with internal UCF assessment stakeholders, including Center for Higher Education Innovation, Operational Excellence and Assessment Support, and Institutional Research.
Additional Duties:
Stay current on the trends in career readiness, High-Impact practices, higher education, and workforce development to inform programming and initiatives.
Participate in university committees, initiatives, and other activities as needed to support institutional goals related to student success and career development.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills.
Strong administrative skills.
Experience using technology and integrated systems.
Experience working with teams, both internal and external understanding of student success.
Experience creating training programs.
