UCF College of Nursing will be moving to UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona, anticipated to open in July 2025.
The Opportunity:
The UCF College of Nursing seeks a Simulation Specialist I to support the development and implementation of simulated clinical experiences. This role coordinates simulation operations, equipment, and supplies, with a focus on our simulated participant volunteer program, and provides technical and administrative support for STIM Center events.
Responsibilities:
Sets up simulation and skills labs (for UG and Graduate courses) per approved event requests for educational experiences, which includes management of patient rooms, inventory and support during the acquisition of supplies and related equipment as appropriate to the simulation event.
Sets up and/or programs simulation technology per scenario or event guidelines and assist with creation and revision of related documentation.
Operates computer-based multimedia systems and associated components, this includes Learning Space (or other (A/V) software and other related equipment.
Assists simulation team and students with various scheduling, training, and support with simulator technologies including anatomic models and specialized task trainers, screen-based simulations, full-body patient simulators, and Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality [AR/VR] simulation equipment.
Prepares and assists in the support of standardized and embedded participant program encounters.
Assists in performing post-simulation activities including debriefing and case review sessions.
Conducts equipment maintenance, operational reviews, and documentation.
Interfaces with the equipment manufacturers for technical support.
Facilitates scheduled maintenance and software installations as necessary.
Participates in maintaining simulation associated supply inventories.
Participates in technical training and remain current with simulation technology.
Exhibits good judgment, autonomy, organizational practices and responsibility within established parameters.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Information Technology, Health-related, or Education/instructional design field.
1-3 years of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting or supporting faculty in an academic or professional environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other administrative technology.
Understands the life cycle process (prevention, maintenance, and operation) of various simulator, simulation related technologies, and medical related equipment.
Working knowledge and operation of medical simulation technologies, learning management systems & devices (such as Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE, CANVAS, Learning Space, AV systems).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, develop high-level organizational skills, manage time effectively.

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722 - $54,203. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
