The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Nursing (CON) Cocoa Campus is seeking qualified candidates for an Academic Program Coordinator I position. This position is located in Cocoa, FL, and will provide administrative office support and manage the functions and operations of the College of Nursing at the Cocoa Campus. The Academic Program Coordinator I will perform duties involved in supporting the UCF Cocoa Traditional BSN program, students, and faculty by working with the Undergraduate Student Services Team within the College of Nursing, UCF Connect, and clinical facilities.

Responsibilities:

Receptionist:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students and faculty in the UCF Cocoa CON.

  • Answer general questions regarding the UCF Nursing Program.

  • Provide phone coverage; screen and direct calls to appropriate faculty/departments.

BSN Program Administration:

  • Enter plans of study for all new students and maintain any updates or changes to plans of study in LEAP*RN.

  • Assign student permission for registration and complete enrollment verification each semester.

  • Run scantron exams and proctor exams for faculty.

  • Coordinate information flow between UCF CON and UCF Connect.

  • Maintain organized and accurate student files and spreadsheets.

  • Maintain email listserv and communication and announcements to UCF Cocoa CON students.

  • Create and update as needed a web course (each cohort) for the Traditional BSN cohorts in Cocoa.

  • Coordinate SAS services and accommodations.

Outreach/Events:

  • Coordinate advisory board meetings and keep a current list of members.

  • Coordinate UCF Traditional BSN Meet & Greet and Orientations at Cocoa Campus.

  • Notify students about upcoming events, outstanding items, and course updates.

  • Provide in-person information sessions at Cocoa and attend local recruitment events.

Office Management:

  • Provide clerical support such as word processing, filing, copying, scanning, and faxing.

  • Maintain professional discretion and confidentially as it relates to student records.

  • Assist faculty with office, classroom, and organizational needs.

  • Assist faculty with book orders and office hour schedules.

  • Maintain inventory and prepare requests for office supplies.

  • Request equipment repairs as necessary.

  • Coordinate room reservations.

  • Distribute parking passes for visitors.

  • Coordinate document disposition.

  • Prepare and submit faculty travel request forms and handle travel reimbursements.

Clinical Placement Management:

  • Work with clinical partners to ensure student and faculty credentials are in place.

  • Communicate with students to ensure compliance with clinical and health requirements.

  • Administrator for CastleBranch database.

  • Track student clinical requirements and monitor holds for required documents.

  • Manage student and instructor evaluation materials using LEAP*RN.

  • Coordinate hospital on-boarding for students as well as instructors.

  • Assist in developing clinical course assignments with the Cocoa Campus Coordinator.

  • Assist with practicum preceptor recruitment.

  • Prepare clinical and practicum placement spreadsheets and calendars each semester for Cocoa Traditional BSN cohorts.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Excel spreadsheets or other data management tools.

  • Ability to interact professionally with high-level administration and visitors.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and articulate speaking.

  • Ability to navigate changing priorities, handle various tasks, and respond effectively to evolving business needs.

The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

  • This position is located at the UCF Connect Cocoa Center in Cocoa, FL.

  • The anticipated pay scale for a well-qualified candidate is between $17.64- $21.61/ hr. and will vary based on several factors, including education, relevant experience, and those who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
